Important things to know about loans
What to consider when applying for a bank loan
Before taking a loan, evaluate the key parameters:
- Interest rate and total cost — compare not only the stated rate but also the total cost of credit (which includes all fees).
- Amount and term — borrow only what you need and for a comfortable period so that the payment does not exceed 40–50% of your income.
- Collateral — loans without collateral or a guarantor usually have higher rates but are easier to obtain.
- Disbursement and repayment method — managing your loan online via the mobile app is the most convenient.

Main consequences of failing to repay a loan
Increase in outstanding debt: Penalties, late payment charges, and interest accrue on overdue amounts, increasing the total amount owed.
Enforcement against property and bank accounts: The bank has the right to recover outstanding debt from funds held in the borrower’s bank accounts and from their personal property through court proceedings or enforcement procedures. If the proceeds from the sale of the property are insufficient to cover the debt, the borrower remains responsible for the outstanding balance.
Liability of guarantors and pledgors: If the loan is secured by collateral or a guarantee, the obligation to repay the debt may extend to the guarantors or pledgors. They may subsequently claim reimbursement of the amounts paid from the principal borrower.
Restrictions on leaving the country: A debtor’s right to leave Uzbekistan may be temporarily restricted by a court decision or an order issued by a state enforcement officer.
- Negative impact on credit history: Information about overdue payments is reported to credit bureaus, which may make it difficult or impossible to obtain new loans or installment payment plans in the future.
