Ipak Yuli Bank Attracts International Financing from the EBRD to Support Small and Medium-Sized Businesses and Green Projects

Ipak Yuli Bank continues to strengthen international cooperation and enhance support for entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan. As part of its efforts to develop micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), the Bank initiated negotiations with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to attract credit lines aimed at financing small business and private entrepreneurship projects.

As a result, Ipak Yuli Bank signed two credit facilities with the EBRD totaling $50 million.

The first credit line, amounting to $35 million, is intended to finance projects of micro, small, and medium-sized businesses. This financing will help expand entrepreneurs’ access to funding, support the growth of existing companies, and create new opportunities for business development.

The second credit line of $15 million is provided under the Green Economy Financing Facility II (GEFF II) and is aimed at supporting projects related to the implementation of energy-efficient equipment, climate-resilient solutions, renewable energy technologies, and other resource-efficient solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. Within the framework of GEFF II, the Bank’s clients will receive not only targeted financing but also expert advisory support to ensure compliance with international green standards.

The signing of these agreements with the EBRD expands the Bank’s capacity to finance small and medium-sized businesses, promotes the adoption of green technologies, and supports energy efficiency initiatives, contributing to sustainable and low-carbon economic growth in Uzbekistan.

“Signing these credit facilities confirms the strategic partnership between the Bank and the EBRD, focused on supporting entrepreneurs and developing a sustainable economy. We are pleased to provide our clients with additional opportunities for growth, modernization, and the adoption of advanced technologies” said Saidabror Saydakhmedov, Chairman of the Management Board of Ipak Yuli Bank.

Ipak Yuli Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have been cooperating since 2018, implementing projects to support micro, small, and medium-sized businesses, promote energy-efficient and green technologies under the GEFF II program, and develop women’s and youth entrepreneurship, as well as inclusive initiatives. The new financing under GEFF II represents another step in strengthening this long-term partnership and reinforcing Uzbekistan’s sustainable financial sector.
