Ipak Recycling
An Ipak Yuli Bank initiative aimed at reducing waste and using resources responsibly.
We aim not to discard materials after events, festivals and other projects, but to find ways to recycle and reuse them, turning what could have become waste into new, useful things.

How it all began
The story of Ipak Recycling began with Navruz 2025.
As we prepared for the celebration, we asked ourselves: why should sumalak, traditionally prepared and shared with loved ones, be distributed in single-use plastic packaging?
We chose to move away from plastic and use reusable glass jars instead. This small decision became the first step and, over time, turned into our annual Navruz tradition.
After the celebration, a new question emerged: what should we do with the materials used for decoration that were no longer needed?
Instead of sending them to waste, we began looking for ways to recycle and reuse them.
Today, this is no longer a standalone environmental initiative, but an approach we strive to apply across different bank projects: finding new practical uses for materials.

Material stories
Navruz 2025
Festival banners became part of everyday life
Ahead of Navruz, the bank’s branches and city streets were decorated with festive banners. The banner fabric proved durable, waterproof and suitable for further use. Around 200 reusable shoppers were made from it.
In this way, material intended for a few weeks of festive decoration was transformed into practical items for everyday use.

Namangan Flower Fest 2025
Festival flowers in a new form
In 2025, Ipak Yuli Bank became a partner of Namangan Flower Fest, one of the country’s largest flower festivals.
After the festival, we decided to preserve some of the flowers that would normally be left behind. Together with the organizers, we collected 10 large boxes of wilted flowers, dried them and used them to create 150 handmade candles.
The candles became keepsake gifts for embassies, international organizations including UN bodies, the bank’s partners, agencies and media representatives. Along with the gifts, we shared a message about responsible resource use, waste reduction and zero-waste principles.
In this way, flowers created for just a few days of the festival gained a second life in a completely different form.

Milliy Fest 2026
Festival tents found a new purpose
For Navruz 2026, Ipak Yuli Bank became a partner of Milliy Fest. Large tents and canopies were among the main elements of the festival infrastructure.
After the event, we preserved more than 500 m² of durable, waterproof material and passed it on for further use. It was turned into 400 reusable shoppers and 300 children’s sun hats.
The sun hats and some of the shoppers were given to children supported by charitable foundations during Grand Pharm Family Day at Central Park, organized with the participation of Ona Foundation.
Material that protected festival guests from the sun continued to serve its purpose in a new form.

Legkoe Retro × Visa Fashion Week
From a festival tent to a designer collection
The story of the Milliy Fest tents did not end there. Together with Uzbek brand Legkoe Retro, we created a limited-edition capsule collection presented as part of Visa Fashion Week.
The project was an experiment at the intersection of recycling and fashion. We wanted to show that material that has served its original purpose can become the basis for a completely new designer product. The collection featured 8 looks: two two-piece suits, three long coats and three cropped coats.
After the show, the story of the collection continued. The looks travelled with the participants of a tourism project and appeared in shoots in different countries around the world.
The collaboration allowed us to talk about recycling, zero waste and responsible resource use through the language of contemporary fashion. The project attracted attention beyond Uzbekistan as well, with international media, including ELLE Kazakhstan, covering the collection.

Bank cards 2026
When a card expires, its material’s story does not
A bank card has an expiration date. The material it is made from has a much longer story.
In 2026, we began collecting old and defective cards at the bank and its branches. After shredding, they become plastic granules that can be sent for further recycling. Around 700 kg of card plastic has been collected in total.
Part of the material is used to create keychains featuring miniature versions of Ipak Yuli Bank cards. In the first stage, 300 keychains and 600 mini-cards were produced. This is only part of the collected material — recycling is ongoing, and we are continuing to explore new ways to use it.

Together with us

Ipak Recycling is growing thanks to partners who share our approach to responsible resource use.
Festival organizers help preserve materials after events, production partners find recycling solutions, designers turn them into new products, and charitable organizations help deliver the results to those who need them most.
Every partner becomes part of a shared idea: reducing waste and finding further uses for materials.
